DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR HIRED FOR KIDZEUM
Recently, Farah Salim was hired as Development Director for the Kidzeum of Health and Science. Salim joins the Kidzeum's Board of Directors and Trustees to raise funds in order to build the 15,000-square-foot children's museum in Southwind Park.
Salim, a member of the Kidzeum Board of Directors since 2007, will be responsible for managing the Vital for Our Youth Capital Campaign, cultivating donors, developing publicity strategies, and coordinating special events to raise the $6 million needed to break ground in Fall 2011.
"It's such an exciting time to live in Springfield and to be a part of a movement to bring creative learning to the community," says Salim. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve as Development Director, and to dedicate my efforts to building the Kidzeum for children of all abilities to enjoy."
Salim brings with her more than seven years of experience in the nonprofit arena, previously working for The Autism Program of Illinois at The Hope Institute for Children and Families, as well as Children's Miracle Network at St. John's Children's Hospital.
